Cycle Tourism Network Expansion
As of May 2015, Nipissing and Northeastern Ontario are recognized on the Ontario by Bike Network as a great place to cycle! For cyclists, the Ontario By Bike™ Network offers a variety of information on cycling in Ontario, inspiring visitors and residents to explore more by bike. Cyclists can find great places to ride, links to cycling maps and plan day trips or multi-day cycling itineraries with stops at certified bicycle friendly businesses. Online maps with the location of and links to accommodations, restaurants, cafes, attractions, bike shops, tours and rental locations that offer cyclists extra services and amenities, creating a positive experience and fueling the desire to get on the saddle to explore more of Ontario by bike.
For tourism industry partners, the Ontario By Bike™ Network is a program certifying and promoting bicycle friendly businesses and cycle tourism in a growing number of regions across Ontario. The Network is open to accommodations, food services, attractions, cycling related businesses and organizations interested in cycle tourism. The Ontario By Bike™ Network was launched in Northeastern Ontario with workshops in North Bay and Mattawa in May 2015. Local businesses are now encouraged to register online to participate and ultimately reach the growing number of cycle tourists in Ontario. Local support for the effort is available through Discovery Routes Trails Organization.
There is currently no charge for your business to participate as this FREE service is made possible through local funding support.
