Description

The Stepping Stones trails are an informal network of hiking trails located on crown lands and within the Mattawa River Provincial Park boundaries. While the trails are not formally managed by an organized group, volunteers keep the trails open year-round for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing and fat biking in the winter months.

A trails map is available at multiple locations along the network and by contacting mattawarivertrails@gmail.com.

Access to the trails is either from the Mattawa River or three walk in access points located on public road allowances

  1. at the end of Stepping Stones Lane
  2. next to the driveway at 944 Macpherson Drive (trail sign & 2 parking spaces cleared on roadside)
  3. at the end of Johnson Road

Several other access points on MacPherson Drive are through private property

Parking is available at the Township of East Ferris public boat launch at the west end of MacPherson Drive in Corbeil. From the parking lot it is a short walk to the trailhead at the end of Step Stone Lane.
