About The Voyageur 200 Gravel Race

The Voyageur 200The Voyageur 200 makes its return for its third annual on August 16, 2025 to Nipissing District’s rugged gravel backroads and remote wilderness trails.  The gravel bike race is a charity ride for the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation to raise awareness around a heart and stroke disorder called Aphasia through a love of bikes and endurance sport. The ride is organized by local cyclist and stroke survivor, Jeff Miller in partnership with Discovery Routes and a community of volunteers eager to see the ride grow.

Presented as the toughest gravel race in Ontario, The Voyageur 200 has an epic 200km course following a series of backroads and trails circumventing Trout Lake and the Mattawa River system through North Bay, Mattawa, Calvin and Bonfield. To help grow the community, the event also offers 60 & 100 km courses and new in 2025, a 30km route to add inclusivity to a race for everyone! Race details including registration and technical requirements are outlined on the race website at thevoyageur200.ca, on Facebook @thevoyageur200 and Instagram @the.voyageur200.

SIP & SAVOUR

Craft Breweries

North Bay has a selection of Northern-themed, deliciously hoppy, local beers, and hard seltzers presented by talented local brew masters. Try a Rye Pale Ale featuring a beaver, paddling a canoe with a guitar at the musician-run Gateway City Brewery’s warehouse-style – you don’t get more Northern than that!! Or, pop into Cecil’s Brewhouse for some pub grub and a brew – from one of Cecil’s top-secret recipes.

Favourite Patios

Enjoy the patio post riding at Low Dawgs. Patio with a view? Welcome aboard our local landmark The Boat.  Waterfront dining is above average over at Average Joe’s.  Save room for ice cream and vegan treats at the The Green Store. Ravenous for a steak? Head downtown to experience The Station Tap House + Steak Co. Family traditions and all your favourites are on the menu at Ivan’s. No city is complete without British Pub Fare and famous burgers, find them at the The Crown & Beaver.
